parkrun is a free, timed 5 km walk, jog or run every Saturday morning, with events at reserves around Perth. Register once, then stay for a coffee with the regulars.

Join a free guided walk in Kings Park
Kings Park volunteer guides lead free walks every day at 10am and 1pm. Individuals do not need to book, so you can just turn up and chat as you go.

Go bird watching in Bold Park
The Friends of Bold Park Bushland run free bird walks, including one on Saturday 28 November 2026 from 8am to 10am, starting at Tuart Carpark. Friends groups are a good way to meet people who like being outdoors.

Become a farmers market regular
Perth has weekly farmers markets in Subiaco, Mount Claremont, East Perth and Beaconsfield. Turn up at the same stall each week and conversations start on their own.
