Dating safely
Most people you meet are exactly who they say. These habits protect you from the few who aren’t.
Report romance scams
Be wary of anyone who asks for money, gift cards or crypto, including people who say they work away and cannot meet. Report it to Scamwatch, and if you have sent money or bank details, contact your bank straight away. In danger, call 000.

Report cybercrime and threats to police
If someone threatens or blackmails you, report it to police through ReportCyber at cyber.gov.au. For non-urgent police help call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444, and in an emergency call 000.
Help with intimate images
If someone shares, or threatens to share, an intimate image of you, do not pay and keep the evidence. The eSafety Commissioner can help get images removed.
